XENIA — After a frustrating start to its season, the Brookville baseball team finished strong winning five of its last nine games including two in postseason play to reach the district final for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, that is where the Blue Devils 2025 campaign came to an end as No. 1 seed Cincinnati Indian Hill scored a 9-3 victory Friday at Athletes in Action to capture the district crown. Senior Nathan Waggoner ended his high school career with a solid performance.

HAMILTON — Loveland took a 6-0 lead in the Division II, Southwest I district final Thursday at Hamilton Ross before Northmont scored its only two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Tigers scored one run in the second and four in the third for an early 5-0 lead. Drew Oerther hit a leadoff single in the second and advanced to second and third on a pair of wild pitches. He scored on a single to left by Dylan Hacker.

URBANA — Tri-County North lost to Russia in the Division VII, Southwest III district final Thursday at the Boyce Street Athletic Complex in Urbana. The Panthers finished 16-10 overall and placed second overall in the Western Ohio Athletic Conference. It was the final game for seniors Carter Lake, Braylen Keener, Garner Parlett, and Malachi Wright. Russia led 7-0 after three innings en route to a 10-0 victory. Tri-County North could only generate four hits and committed two errors.

HUBER HEIGHTS — Junior Jenna Hall was the only Northmont athlete to advance to the OHSAA Track & Field meet by placing third in the high jump at the Division I, Region IV meet at Wayne High School. Hall cleared the bar at 5-feet, 4-inches. Dashayla Worlaw of Mount Healthy took 1st place at 5-feet, 5-inches. Claire Downer of Chaminade-Julienne was 2nd at 5-feet, 4-inches and D’Asyia Cotton was 4th, also at 5-feet, 4-inches.

HUBER HEIGHTS — Results of the first day of competition at the OHSAA Division I, Region IV meet held Wednesday at Wayne High School have been posted. The meet continues on Friday. The top eight placers in each event advanced to Friday’s finals. Only events that Northmont competed in are listed below. Girls 4×800 relayNorthmont (Jazlen Simpson, Emma Martin, Makenna Long, and Emelia Yingling) finished 13th out of 16 teams in 10:13.84.
