COLUMBUS — For a brief moment, the Lexington 4x800-meter relay team of Chance Basilone, Nathan Reed, Will Perkins and Latrell Hughes held the best time in all of Division I after last week's 7:39.62 in the regional meet. Minutes later, the Minutemen learned of Dublin Jerome's 7:39.44 at its regional meet to unseat Lex for the top time heading into Friday's OHSAA Division I State Track and Field Championships. And that lit a fire.
