Residents in Broome in WA's far north recall the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck the town five years ago, on par with the largest in Australia's history. This week, the town of Port Hedland, over 600km south of Broome, was struck by seven earthquakes. DFES says the five-year anniversary and the Port Hedland quakes are an opportunity to remind residents how to protect themselves when earthquakes occur.
