A “hardened” Fife paedophile was caught downloading twisted child abuse files just months after being released from jail. Deviant Paul Scally, 45, began downloading vile files in November 2023, having only been liberated from prison that July. Scally was subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order during some of his offending, having previously jailed a decade ago for sex offences against a child.

A Dundee man has been locked up for more than two years for knifing someone who was run over in broad daylight moments later. Jayden Robertson, now 20, was brought from prison to Dundee Sheriff Court to be sentenced for his role in the vicious attack. Robertson chased James Cooper and struck him with a knife, before Marley Williams mowed him down in a bid to kill him on Strathmartine Road.

A thug abducted and threatened to kill his partner in a terrifying attack in Forfar weeks after appearing in court for biting her. Roadworker Michael McKay locked his victim inside her first floor flat, held a knife against her throat and threatened to kill her. Just three weeks earlier, he had appeared in court from custody after biting her chest following an argument. He is now awaiting sentence and will be assessed for a supervised release order following the imposition of a jail term.

A Dundee 23-year-old has admitted carrying out a life-endangering attack on a new-born baby. First offender Jay Dixon, 23, pled guilty to two courses of domestic abuse towards partners, as well as neglecting and seriously assaulting the baby, who was less than a month old. He had initially been charged with attempting to murder the infant, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

A Dundee teenager has been sentenced after he left a young rival permanently disfigured in a hammer attack, in view of children playing football. Cody Chambers used the tool to club his teenage victim on the head on the city’s Doon Terrace. The victim, who was 19, was left scarred for life after suffering a three-centimetre gash to the right side of his forehead, which needed stitches.
