    Domino’s has finally revealed the opening date of its much-anticipated store in Peterhead. The takeaway chain has been keen to open a new outlet in the north-east town for years. Domino’s announced the new  Blue Toon store will open on May 26. Previous plans to set up shop at Burnside Business Park were lodged in 2021 but later fell through in favour of a Burger King restaurant, which is yet to be built.

    For 23-year-old Katie Makin, her dream of opening a café has come sooner than she ever thought possible. The keen baker has worked at the Cherry Tree café on Low Street in Banff ever since it opened in October 2022. She swiftly became a familiar face to the locals who come in daily for a warming coffee and a sweet treat. Katie, from Gardenstown, was even made supervisor by impressed owners Tim and Amy Smith.

    A Wick carer has been given a warning after he carried a Stanley knife with him while caring for vulnerable people. Alasdair Robertson was put under investigation by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for his behaviour in 2024. At the time, he was employed as a care home worker with Pulteneytown People’s Project in Wick.

    A telephone mast is to be installed on Aberdeen’s Broad Street. The new installation is being carried out by Ground Up Solutions LTD and will affect some late night and early morning bus services through the city centre. Aberdeen City Council has issued a traffic notice warning that Broad Street will be closed over several nights to allow work to be carried out. The traffic order says the closure is “necessary to protect public safety during telecom mast installation works”.
