An East London council is set to approve a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) which will see tougher rules introduced to dog-owners in the borough. In July 2024, Tower Hamlets cabinet members approved a public consultation on the council's plans to introduce the PSPO following a spate of dog attacks which occurred in the previous summer.

An East London tower block which has stood empty for almost four years after residents were evacuated over safety concerns could be demolished to make way for a new housing development. In October 2021, Clare House residents were forced to leave their homes because of fire safety issues and structural problems following a survey carried out by their landlord, Clarion Housing Association.

This year, Easter Sunday lands on April 20, meaning the bank holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday will fall on April 18 and April 21 respectively. A group of pro-low traffic neighbourhood (LTN) campaigners has had an appeal hearing granted after they lost a High Court battle which challenged an East London council's decision to remove several schemes in the borough. In December 2024, a judge found Tower Hamlets Council followed proper procedures when it removed three LTNs and reopened areas of Old Bethnal Green Road, Columbia Road and Arnold Circus.
