Materials and methodsThe human CRC cell lines SW480 and HCT116 and the mouse CRC line MC38 were purchased from the Cell Bank of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai, China). Cells were passaged three times and then cryopreserved. In each experiment, cells were cultured under standard culture conditions for 3–5 days after resuscitation until the cell density was 50–70%.

The increasing popularity of socially responsible investing has led to a surge in demand for green assets, resulting in reduced green financing costs (Baker et al., 2022; Barber et al., 2021; Pástor et al., 2021). This has raised concerns that some firms may engage in greenwashing—the practice of making false or exaggerated claims about the social benefits of the projects being financed—to access cheaper funding sources.
