Generative artificial intelligence has brought disruptive innovations in health care but faces certain challenges. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) enables models to generate more reliable content by leveraging the retrieval of external knowledge. In this perspective, we analyze the possible contributions that RAG could bring to health care in equity, reliability, and personalization. Additionally, we discuss the current limitations and challenges of implementing RAG in medical scenarios.

In response to the contemporary global climate governance challenges related to global warming, there has been a notable shift towards actively addressing the “low-carbon” initiative as a paramount focus. China, as the world's largest developing country, has proactively undertaken actions to combat climate change and enhance environmental quality. One of the innovative strategies is to mandate the disclosure of environmental information by significant carbon emitters (Cheng and Mao, 2024).

Transitioning to a carbon-neutral economy requires substantial transformations in the residential sector. It is essential for households to invest in energy-efficient appliances, adopt electric heating systems and equip their homes with PV systems. Yet, the associated expenses are considerable both on an individual and a sectoral level.

AbstractHi-C is a chromosome conformation capture assay used to study 3D genome organization. The recent development of single-cell Hi-C technologies has further enabled the examination of 3D chromatin organization in individual cells, although these approaches often suffer from low-coverage libraries and data sparsity. Here we introduce HiC2Self, a self-supervised framework for denoising Hi-C contact maps that requires only low-coverage data as input.

AbstractPosaconazole enteric-coated tablet and oral suspension are two oral drugs in the treatment of invasive fungal infections (IFIs). This study compared the effectiveness and safety between posaconazole enteric-coated tablet and oral suspension, and provided a real world basis for the clinical practice. A retrospective cohort study was performed on IFIs patients treated with posaconazole enteric–coated tablet or oral suspension.

Latent heat storage (LHS) has emerged as a promising solution for addressing the challenges of large-scale and long-term energy storage, offering a clean and reusable system. Being in the developmental stage, and with only limited theoretical predictions being available, there is a need to enhance the efficiency of LHS systems. In this study, we use numerical simulations to study the melting process of a phase-change material (PCM) in a rectangular domain.
