Pavement work on I-83 expected to close lanes through June

BALTIMORE - Noticed your commute on I-83 has been a little bumpy? Well, improvements are on the way. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration announced a new project where they'll begin pavement patching a segment of the expressway. The project, expected to start as early as May 11, is expected to be finished in early June, weather permitting.

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. - Howard County Police are investigating a fatal collision involving four vehicles in Jessup. Friday afternoon, police say a 2017 Hyundai Sonata was traveling on Guilford Road when it crossed the double yellow line in an attempt to pass a 2021 Tesla Model Y. The Tesla was trying to make a left turn onto Twelve Sons Court. The Hyundai sideswiped the Tesla, then sideswiped a 2010 Honda fit, before colliding head-on with a 2021 Honda Civic.
Propane explosion cancels Mainstreet Festival Parade in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. - The Mainstreet Festival Parade in Laurel has been canceled after a propane explosion. Officials say the explosion happened at the intersection of 4th and Main Streets during vendor setup. One vendor was taken to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. BGE crews secured the area and foot traffic in the area has been reduced. While the parade was canceled, the festival will still operate as normal. This incident remains under investigation.

Man charged after allegedly killing dog he thought was a coyote

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. - A man has been charged after allegedly shooting and killing a dog he thought was a coyote. On April 23, the Anne Arundel County Police Department received an animal cruelty complaint. The owner, Shannon Smith Wood, reported her dog, a Belgian Malinois named Maisie, went missing on April 20. She also believed the dog had been shot. "No, that's not a dog. That's not a dog. Voluntary water restriction issued for Baltimore area

BALTIMORE - The Department of Public Works has issued a voluntary water restriction for residents in the Baltimore area. DPW says this is in coordination with Baltimore County, Harford County, Howard County and Carroll County. Residents are asked to conserve water and limit non-essential water use. BALTIMORE — The Mitchell Courthouse was evacuated following a fire alarm Tuesday afternoon according to the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office. A fire was reported on the fourth floor in room 438. A Sheriff's Office employee put out the fire with a fire extinguisher officials say. The fire department cleared the building for re-entry. The source of the fire is expected to be electrical. Pair of teens accused of assaulting and robbing two women while gardening

Share BALTIMORE — Two teens have been arrested following a robbery and assault in North Baltimore Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to the 700 block of Woodbourne Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. Police say an two women, ages 82 and 64, were gardening when they were approached by the teens. The suspects allegedly chased the women, and struck the 82-year-old in the head before taking her belongings and vehicle. Both suspects were detained after a brief chase.

By ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. - A teen was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a water rescue in Anne Arundel County. Around 3:30 p.m., officials say a 16-year-old jumped off a pier and did not resurface near Stoney Creek in Pasadena. The teen was recovered around 5:00 p.m. and taken to the hospital in critical condition. This incident remains under investigation.
