    A slide near Swimmer’s Delight on state Route 36 in Humboldt County claimed the life of a Caltrans contractor’s employee and closed the highway early Saturday morning, Caltrans confirmed. “An employee of a contractor working on a Caltrans emergency project was killed during an active slide at around 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, along Route 36 east of Swimmer’s Delight (PM 15.7-16.3),” Caltrans District 1 spokesperson Manny Machado told the Times-Standard.
