    TENMILE, Ore. – Construction work will begin this week for the emergency replacement of a culvert on Highway 42 damaged by flooding last month, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. ODOT said heavy rainfall and ensuing flooding on March 15 led to severe damage on a culvert that was discovered about a week later.

    SWEET HOME, Ore. – A 39-year-old woman who allegedly left the scene following a Friday afternoon crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist was later arrested, according to the Sweet Home Police Department. SHPD said that they along with the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District responded shortly before 2:30 p.m. on April 18 to a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Highway 20 and 1st Avenue.

    SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A 39-year-old woman who was allegedly driving at more than six times the legal blood-alcohol content level when she crashed her car into a power pole is now facing multiple charges, according to the Springfield Police Department. SPD officials said they responded at shortly before 7 a.m. on April 10 to a traffic crash in which a vehicle had struck a power pole on Gateway Street near Postal Way.

    LEBANON, Ore. – A new racing season begins next Saturday at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon. The dirt track has been around since the mid 1960s, but it’s now healthier and safer than ever with multiple improvements made to the facility. Cory and Sandy Penfold took over the raceway in 2022 and immediately addressed issues with the concession stand under the grandstands. Smoke would drift up to the crowds above, and there was the possibility of a fire. Eventually, Linn County shut it down.
