    BALTIMORE - Maryland ranks tenth in the nation for releasing jailed migrants wanted by ICE. This according to new research from the non-profit Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), an independent, non-partisan think tank. The research cites ICE records between October 1, 2022 and February 6, 2025. During that span, the study found local and state jails denied more than 25,000 ICE detainers. Maryland accounted for 384 of those denials.

On Wednesday Harford County Animal Control got a tip about some puppies abandoned in the woods on Country Club Road. Lo and behold, officers discovered three yellow labs left alone. Good news is the furry trio appeared in good health. The four legged fellas are estimated to be five-months old.

    BOWIE, Md. - Police in the Bahamas are investigating after a 23-year-old Maryland man was found dead on the beach over the weekend. Around 5:30 Saturday morning the body of Dinari McAlmont was discovered on the shoreline of Paradise Island near a resort he was vacationing at with family. McAlmont, who lived in Bowie, reportedly arrived on the island Friday, April 4. According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, an autopsy revealed McAlmont died by drowning.

    BALTIMORE - A new legislative audit shows Maryland's Department of Human Services failed to collect $1.4 billion in unpaid child support. The outstanding balance accounts for the period of October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. That's drastically higher than the $457.8 million in payments received during that same time frame. Auditors counted 162,000 open child support cases in that span.
