If you haven't been over to Buc-ee's in Amarillo yet, it's ok. I haven't even been there yet myself, but I'll get there. It's easily been the most popular place in Amarillo since it opened last month. And now, allegedly, it's so popular that it's already been robbed. Last night, January 21, the police scanners apparently started going crazy due to a robbery at Buc-ee's. Right now, we don't know what exactly they robbed, guessing money. People on Facebook were having a lot of fun with it though.

I have been one of the biggest cheerleaders for legalizing gambling in Texas since I moved here over 10 years ago. Yes, a big reason for it is because I enjoy gambling. Whether it's hitting the tables, cranking the slots, or placing a parlay, I find great enjoyment in it. Because I'm unable to legally place bets on sporting events, I have a tendency to immerse myself in DraftKings and other daily fantasy platforms.

Ok, since we're getting a Buc-ee's (finally) in Amarillo, the next moves in a lot of residents minds are to build up a Costco and an H-E-B. Costco seems to be the one that everyone wants to see pop up in the city, but there's never any rumors of it actually ever coming into the city. So that one I feel like is just on everyone's wish list of things they want to see.

Every 4th Of July brings fireworks to Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle. Loud cracks, bangs, and booms can be heard all around the city. Mortars getting shot high into the sky to produce this beautiful array of colors that bring the admiration of everyone. Parties and gatherings are held, grills and smokers are constantly filing the sky with smoke, and good smells.

Believe it or not, Father's Day is right around the corner, and that means Amarillo families will be looking for ways to spoil Dad and give him the best day possible. For me, I typically find myself at a ballfield. I know you're shocked, right? Most of the time, it's being at my boys' games. There's typically a Father's Day tourney we play in every year, but on those years we aren't, you'll probably find me enjoying a beer and a game at HODGETOWN with the family.
