Beka Yang is a representative for Rhode Island’s Party for Socialism and Liberation, and is one of many activists behind a new ICE alert system. “We’re encouraging anybody who sees presence of ICE in their communities, even if you think it might be ICE and you’re not sure, give us a call,” Yang said.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Archbishop Richard Henning made his return to Providence for the Chrism Mass on Monday. Henning was named the next archbishop of the Archdiocese of Boston last August and is now getting his first taste of the big city. “It’s been interesting,” he said Monday. “It’s a totally different scale, as you can imagine from Rhode Island, but I’m finding my way.”To replace Henning, Pope Francis named Bruce Lewandowski as the next Bishop of Providence.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Federal Hill is grieving this week after a local restaurateur was killed in a nightclub collapse in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday. Fray Rosario was a popular figure on Federal Hill, and had just bought the building housing his restaurants, Terra Luna Café and Terra Negra Cantina. ABC6 spoke with Rick Simone, president of the Federal Hill Commerce Association, who remembered Rosario fondly. “He was an active member for us on Federal Hill,” Simone said.

BERKLEY, Mass. (WLNE) — Berkley residents say they are restless and fed up with nightly train horns from the new South Coast Rail service. About two weeks after the line opened, over 100 people gathered at Berkley Town Hall to voice their concerns Wednesday night. Stephen Alvarez said he lives about 12 steps from the tracks, and lately, he’s barely been able to sleep. “There’s no sense sleeping, because your sleep is disturbed,” he said.
