President Joe Biden's decision to end his bid for reelection amid intense pressure has energized local Democrats by giving the party an opening to reframe their faltering narrative and bolstered Republicans' confidence as they come out of the national convention to run against what has been described as a "fragmented" party. Biden made the announcement on Sunday from his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he has been self-isolating since testing positive for COVID-19 Thursday night.

Saba AliPoughkeepsie JournalNew York State will inject $67 million into mitigating the housing crisis in the Hudson Valley region by funding over 2,400 apartments, half of which are slated to be affordable, and infrastructure. The funding is the first round of awards coming out of the $150 million Mid-Hudson Momentum Fund that New York Gov. Kathy Hochul introduced last year as a way meet the growing demand for more housing in the state.

Jiava had been consulting for the village when the State Comptroller's Office conducted its audit of the village's finances.
