New "Fix50" traffic shift starts on Monday SACRAMENTO – Drivers on Highway 50 should be prepared for a traffic shift in lane restrictions in Sacramento as crews continue their work on the Fix50 project. Starting Monday morning, Caltrans will be shifting traffic on the westbound side of the freeway from Stockton Boulevard to 26th Street. The work is part of the ongoing $529 million Fix50 project to rehabilitate pavement along Highway 50 in the Sacramento area.

California State Fair announces reduced weekday hours for 2025 SACRAMENTO – It may still be winter, but Cal Expo is already making plans for the state fair by changing a long-standing tradition. Starting summer 2025, the California State Fair will open at 4 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. Organizers say shifting to later hours will better match the peak visitor times and improve comfort.

Sacramento music scene to expand with new venue in midtown SACRAMENTO - Midtown Sacramento is getting a new addition to its music scene as a new venue is already under construction. A new music venue is coming to Midtown Sacramento and people are excited. "Actually, it's super great," said Keenan Lewis. It's called Channel 24 and the announcement came Wednesday as construction got underway at the 1800 block of 24th Street, near R Street.
