A brand-new grocery store is coming to Granite Bay. Nugget Market is getting ready to open its 17th location, this one located on the southeast corner of Sierra College and Douglas boulevards. The original building has been completely gutted and rebuilt from the studs up. "This has been years in the making," said Cody Moody, the store's director. The new store will feature a floral shop and a raised mezzanine where shoppers can enjoy some of the food they've purchased.

A key Sacramento city council vote deciding the future of Republic FC's new soccer stadium is set for Tuesday. Plans for Republic FC's new home, an expandable 12,000-seat facility, can't come to life without figuring out how to cover infrastructure in the area – things like roadways, pedestrian bike lanes, and traffic lights that the city estimates will to cost north of $90 million. Tuesday's vote will be to approve a special tax district that the city is looking to use to cover the cost.

SACRAMENTO – Downtown Sacramento is turning up the volume as Concerts in the Park returns Friday night to Cesar Chavez Plaza. The free event is now in its 32nd season, but some changes are in store. Several people displaced after Rancho Cordova duplex fire RANCHO CORDOVA – A residential duplex in Rancho Cordova went up in flames early Tuesday morning, displacing at least eight people. Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the scene on S. White Rock Road just before 5 a.m. and found flame shooting from the structure. Crews were able to save one unit of the duplex, but the other side was wrecked by the fire.
