According to the Office of the State Auditor-- in 2023, Olmsted County reported over $4,200 in forfeitures, while Rochester police seized more than $23,000, mostly cash from drug-related cases. Cars and electronics used in crimes like child exploitation can also be forfeited.

SHEFFIELD, Iowa.-- A garage fire in Sheffield Sunday afternoon spread to a neighboring garage and damaged the siding of nearby homes, according to the Dougherty Volunteer Fire Department. Sheffield dispatch received a call around 12:30 p.m. Sunday about a fire at 302 N 6th Street. One garage was totally destroyed at the address where the fire was reported. A neighboring garage sustained slight damage, and the fire melted the siding off surrounding houses. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rochester Mayor Kim Norton welcomed Tboung Khmum Province, Cambodia as the city's newest Sister City during a ceremony Saturday at the Cambodian New Year celebration. Norton and local leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) officially establishing the partnership. The signing took place during Saturday's events of the three-day Cambodian New Year celebration, which marks the Year of the Snake.
