The Smith County Elections Office said it is going through the standard process, which will include canvassing to finalize the results and make them official.     Severe weather and heavy rain is expected to move through East Texas on Tuesday. The highest risk for severe storms is near and south of Interstate 20 in East Texas, according to the National Weather Service of Shreveport. The NWS has placed Tyler, Longview, and much of the rest of East Texas in the slight risk category for possible tornadoes, damaging wind gusts of 60 mph and large hail. The arrival of the severe weather is expected to be afternoon and evening.
