ANDERSON COUNTY — The Neches and Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District hosted a public hearing Thursday at Jacksonville City Hall to discuss a decision to allow a company to drill into East Texas aquifers, giving residents and officials a chance to speak out before the July 19 petition deadline. The district made a unanimous decision to table the motion for 90 more days.

The teams were selected by TSWA members based on nominations from coaches and media members from around the state. Mims and Wilder were both outfielders for the Lady Lobos this season.

King allowed just one hit and one walk as only two Tyler East baserunners reached base. He struck out eight in the shutout effort.

LUFKIN — A sixth-inning rally fell a run short and Rose Capital West Minors 10U held on for a 3-2 win over Lufkin’s Minors in District 10 tournament play here Thursday night at Morris Frank Park. Rose Capital West scored once in the third and added a pair of runs in the fifth to go up 3–0. Lufkin had one last shot and Anthonie Stewart worked a full count off Rose Capital West starter Preston May before drawing a walk to start the top of the sixth.
