    Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra attended the regional sheriff’s conference Tuesday in Austin. All four sheriffs in the Rio Grande Valley attended, as well as Gov. Greg Abbott.     Those struggling to find a parking space at the new Hidalgo County Courthouse may have to wait until next year to see some relief. Edinburg Mayor Pro-Tem Jason De Leon said parking is limited in the area, and the city has been working on a solution for four years. The solution: a $6 million, three-story parking garage with 250 parking spaces. Construction begins September 2025. “We need them to be able to feel comfortable to be parking and not have to worry about being towed either,” De Leon said.
