Two of three men who allegedly abducted, robbed and shot a 58-year-old Burien woman in January, then left her for dead on the side of Interstate 90 in Kittitas County, are now in custody. Over the course of the monthslong investigation, detectives assigned to the King County sheriff’s office’s major crimes unit traveled to Oregon, Illinois and Texas, working with other local law enforcement agencies and the FBI, according to a sheriff’s news release.

Jonathan Adamow unknowingly walked past a gunman on a sidewalk in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood and stepped into his line of fire, taking a bullet to the back early on New Year’s Eve, according to King County prosecutors. Adamow, 29, of New York, died on the northwest corner of East Pike Street and Broadway during what was supposed to be a temporary stay in the city with their longtime partner, a friend told The Seattle Times in January.
