(Louisiana First) — New Orleans Saints executive vice president and general manager Mickey Loomis spoke for the first time Wednesday since news broke of the potential of quarterback Derek Carr missing the 2025 season with a shoulder injury. Loomis wasted no time addressing the topic. “He does have an issue with his shoulder,” Loomis said in his opening statement. “We’re hoping to get some resolution and clarity on that in the near, near future. BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – LSU head coach Matt McMahon landed his first commitment out of the transfer portal Monday. Mississippi State forward Michael Nwoko announced his commitment to LSU on his social media. The 6-foot-10 center is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he started 32 of the 34 games he played for the Bulldogs, averaging 15.4 minutes per game. This past season, Nwoko averaged 6.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – The eyes of the NFL are on Baton Rouge for LSU’s Pro Day, including New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. The biggest name in the draft class out of LSU, Will Campbell, did not participate. However, it still allowed other guys to shine in front of NFL scouts, including running back Josh Williams, who was not invited to the NFL Combine. Williams was the star of Pro Day.

It’s a trend Kelly’s trying to curb by bringing on former Buffalo Bills standout Kyle Williams as his next defensive line coach. Williams was hired in the weeks leading up to spring ball after Bo Davis departed for the same position with the New Orleans Saints after just one season with the Bayou Bengals.

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The New Orleans Saints are bringing Ascension Parish native Justin Reid home, signing him to a three-year deal. The deal is worth $31.5 million, including $22.25 million fully guaranteed. The 7-year NFL veteran comes back home to Louisiana after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Houston Texans and the last three with the Kansas City Chiefs.
