Tang Mo and Pak Boon, Taronga Zoo's Asian elephant pair, are preparing to leave Sydney for a new home in South Australia with a bigger herd. The elephants will make the journey with a support crew and will be sorely missed by the elephant keepers, who have cared for them since their arrival in 2006. A one-horned rhino and water buffalo will take their place on Sydney Harbour's favourite animal sanctuary. Taronga Zoo's last elephants have packed their trunks and are ready for a mammoth move.

NSW's counter terrorism chief has told an inquiry he expressed his suspicions that an explosives laden caravan was not a legitimate terrorism plot against a Sydney synagogue from the very beginning.
