COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WGAL) - A Pennsylvania man is accused of torturing and abusing a dog. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, Stephen Stoltzfus, 45, cut off one of the dog’s legs with a pair of scissors after it had been injured by a hay machine blade. Authorities said Stoltzfus completed the amputation instead of bringing the animal to the vet. “This isn’t what you see every day in the way of animal cruelty or neglect,” Nicole Wilson, with the Pennsylvania SPCA, said.

VisionCorps' annual fundraiser, Eye Drop, was held Friday in downtown Lancaster. The rappel event raises awareness and funding to support services for people who are blind or have low vision throughout Lancaster, Adams, Chester, Lebanon and York counties. One of the participants was Laura Griffith. She started losing her vision in her 20s. "Retinitis pigmentosa. Had normal vision growing up," she said. It's a progressive eye disease. Over time, her vision continues to fade. "Things are different.

Video presented during the trial of a teen accused of shooting and killing a 12-year-old in York County got a big reaction in the courtroom. The surveillance video played Thursday made many people gasp. Jurors saw a clip of Nolan Grove and Kain Heiland about two hours before Heiland died in April 2023. Grove pointed a gun at a group of girls with a scooter, and Heiland moved Grove's arm away. After this video was played, defense attorneys approached the judge. Court was quickly dismissed for the day.
