BRYAN — What’s currently a plot of agricultural land is expected to become a game changer for the housing crisis in Williams County. The Williams County Port Authority is planning a 50-unit senior living development at the southern border of the city of Bryan, next to the Bryan Senior Center and across from single-family homes. The project, announced in May, is one of several steps to address the community’s housing shortage.

Chris and Rachel Kaminski often vacation in Florida, and they recently brought something big back home. Of the 22 existing Kava Culture locations in the country, 19 are in Florida. The local couple, who stumbled upon a Botanical Brewing Co. taproom on the Gulf Coast in 2021, officially opened in February their own franchise. “We loved the community and the people it attracted,” Rachel said of the locations the couple frequented on their vacations.
