    EDWARDSVILLE - An East St. Louis man was charged Wednesday in a domestic violence case out of Bethalto. The 28-year-old suspect was charged June 18 with aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony; and two counts of domestic battery, both Class A misdemeanors. The Bethalto Police Department presented the case. According to court documents, on June 10, the suspect allegedly strangled a household or family member; kicked the victim in the head and body; and bit the victim's arm.

    WOOD RIVER — Several ordinances dealing with weapons, building, and land use were updated at the Wood River City Council meeting on June 16. In both cases, the ordinances were updated to reflect minor changes in state law. Municipalities occasionally make such changes. Article continues below this adOne ordinance updated the city’s unlawful use of weapons regulations. Police Chief Brad Wells said the update was necessary because of changes in the laws regarding tear gas/pepper spray.
