(Press Release) - The Central Community College Board of Governors has approved an operating budget for 2023-24, which includes a fifth straight decrease in the property tax levy for the 25 counties served by CCC. The property tax levy was set at 8.5391 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, down from 9.0273 cents in 2022-23.

    GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Central Community College has been invited to return for a third consecutive year with the All Within My Hands’ (AWMH) Metallica Scholars Initiative. CCC will continue to receive funding to enhance career and technical education programs. Now in its fifth year, the Metallica Scholars Initiative is currently supporting 42 community colleges across 33 states. By the end of this year, it will have helped over 6,000 students pursuing careers in the trades.

    You recognize and know the building by the sign if you are in, or ever come to Bangor. 465 Hogan Road. Exiting Northbound I95, or driving on Hogan Road, you’ve seen it. And before Lee, the building has a history. The building was originally built by Harold Alfond. He was the owner of Dexter Shoe which he later incorporated into Super Shoes. It was the home of Dexter Shoe Factory Outlet, then Super Shoes, and until recently Lee Credit Auto. Harold Alfond owned the building until March of 2010.

    Too early for a free 4th of July concert plan? This weekend's the 4th of June, so it's a month away until the 4th of JulyA month away from making 4th of July plans, but hopefully not too early to drop an idea. And a community event that is a free event especially on the 4th of July is welcome, right? Tuesday the 4th of July, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will return to play a free concert on the Bangor waterfront before the fireworks display over the Penobscot River.
