MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – It has been a warm and muggy day across most of the Coastal areas. Once you get to Interstate 95 corridor and north, a late spring cold air damming situation has set up. Dry high pressure is building into a warm and moist environment. This is providing clouds to the area, and cooler conditions for Florence, Lumberton, Laurinburg, Marion into Bennettsville. We will see clouds and a occasional sprinkle across the area this evening.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom’s out there! I wish I had a better forecast for you. We are looking at a pretty stormy day across the region. We will have several bands of heavy rain and even some thunderstorms move through the area today. This stormy weather will in-fact stick with us through Tuesday. Today we will see some heavier thunderstorms through the first part of the day.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Welcome to the weekend! We are starting the day off with cloudy conditions, will likely stick with those clouds throughout the day. Overnight a cold front sagged to our south. This is allowing drier, cooler air to move in from the northeast. A classic Carolina wedge. Temperatures today will be held back into the low 70s. We will see a warm front advance north throughout the afternoon into the overnight hours.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope that you all have had a great day. It was much cooler, drier today across the region. While most of the Pee Dee experienced temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s, with sunshine. Along the coast, we had a little more cloud cover, with temperatures only in the mid 70s. Tonight we will see lows fall into the upper 50s in the Pee Dee and low 60s along the coast. A little patchy fog is possible in a few locations.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – We have seen a very long stretch of dry and warm weather. While the warm weather will stick around, the dry stretch will start to go away. A dip in the jet stream will allow for spokes of energy to dive across the Carolinas over the next few days. This will bring scattered storms to the area today. A couple of those storms could be on the stronger side, especially near the coast. Sunday night into Monday morning clouds will start to move out of the area.
