FSIS issued the public health alert for a raw ground beef item produced on May 22 and May 23, which may be contaminated with the E. coli O157:H7 strain and should not be consumed. CONNECTICUT, USA — President Donald Trump has pardoned former Connecticut Gov. John Rowland, according to the Associated Press Wednesday. The AP said a White House official confirmed the pardon but spoke only on background to discuss matters that haven't been made public yet. Rowland, a Republican from Waterbury and Connecticut's youngest governor at the age of 37, was elected to three terms with the first term in 1994, a second in 1998 and a third in 2002.

WATERBURY, Conn. — The state Department of Children and Families, or DCF, said Thursday that they found no records involving a Waterbury man who was allegedly held captive by his stepmother for 20 years. "We are shocked and and saddened for the victim and at the unspeakable conditions he endured. The now adult victim has shown incredible strength and resilience during this time of healing and our hearts go out to him," said DCF Commissioner Jodi Hill-Lilly.
