    Excitement for summer concert season is already starting to kick in. The Vail Valley Foundation, the local nonprofit which operates Vail’s Gerald R. Forty-one graduates took their seats on stage as speakers reflected on a class that has evolved over the years from bright-eyed freshmen full of quirks to esteemed scholars with futures full of promise.

    As crowds gathered for snow and Closing Weekend celebrations in Vail, another gathering of Eagle County locals was taking place down valley in Edwards, where local protestors took to the main roundabout Saturday to participate in the National Day of Action, a countrywide mobilization effort against Trump administration policies and “to rise up against unconstitutional power grabs tearing our country and families apart,” according to event organizers.

    The sunshine came and went, but the smiles and springtime slush were consistently satisfying on Closing Day at Beaver Creek, as skiers gathered to celebrate and reminisce on a fun 45th season. “We’ve had a great winter here at Beaver Creek, starting out with a powdery Opening Day, to a historic women’s race on the Birds of Prey Course. We saw tons of snow in February, and beautiful sunny days this spring,” said Beaver Creek Resort Chief Operating Officer Bobby Murphy.
