Repeat Philadelphia sex offender charged with assaulting teen

(WPHL) — A repeat sex offender from Philadelphia, out on bail for child sexual abuse material charges, has been arrested and charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced the arrest of Craig Coleman, 32, this week. Coleman was previously charged by the PA Office of Attorney General in 2023 with child sex abuse material, according to a statement from the office.
20 cameras on School District of Philadelphia buses part of new pilot program

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — The School District of Philadelphia is testing a new system to crack down on cars that illegally pass school buses. There are now 20 buses equipped with cameras as part of the Stop Arm Pilot program. Selected buses have routes along major highways and busy intersections. BusPatrol and Gatekeeper Systems are providing the cameras at no cost to the district. Here is how the system works: When a school bus stops, cameras automatically activate when the bus stop arm is extended.

(WPHL) — Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced Monday that the investigation into the deadly March 6 officer-involved shooting at a Glenside apartment complex is completed. According to the DA’s office, the investigation found it was a lawful use of force by Abington Township police officers. The man killed has been identified as Wyleek Tinsley, who lived at the apartment with his girlfriend and her child.
Man wanted for alleged sex assault, luring of 12-year-old girl

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Police are asking for the public’s help to find a man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the assault happened on March 20, 2025, around 11:30 a.m., on the 200 block of E. Salaignac St. in Wissahickon, Northwest Philadelphia. Police say the suspect also asked the victim to get into his car, which he had parked on the block. The vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a 2018 KIA Sorento, with an unknown tag.

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — If SEPTA doesn’t get funding to fill a $213 million budget deficit, the transit agency says it would have to take “drastic steps to irreversibly shrink the system.” Those proposed steps include no Metro or Regional Rail services after 9 p.m.; eliminating 50 bus routes, 5 Regional Rail lines, and all special service (sports, concerts, and major events); reducing service on all remaining routes by 20%; and increasing fares by 21.5%.
