Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin believes the Red Army can inspire the club to further success in the upcoming season. Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin has revealed he is working on a plan over the summer to slash the Premiership gap on Celtic and Rangers. Thelin led the Dons to a first Scottish Cup triumph since 1990 when overcoming Premiership champions Celtic on penalties in the final. That silverware success secured guaranteed European group stage action until at least mid-December. However, the Reds finished fifth in the Premiership – 39 points behind champions Celtic and 22 behind second-placed Rangers.
