BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- Tuesday, Governor Patrick Morrisey signed into law Senate Bill 199. Morrisey says this bill addresses student behavior, safety, and intervention in the classroom. “We’ve talked to teachers from across the state, and one of the things that we constantly hear is that it helps when the teachers can have control over the classrooms,” said Governor Morrisey. Senate Bill 199 aims to give teachers that control.

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- Since April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, Just For Kids and Southern Educational Services Cooperative are teaming up to provide training to help prevent the sexual abuse of children. “Stewards of Children” is a training program designed to teach adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibily to child sexual abuse. The training is free to the community and will be held on April 30th from 1 to 4 pm.

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- On Friday, the Transportation Security Administration, commonly known as TSA, announced that Real ID will officially be implemented nationwide. On May 7th, TSA will no longer accept state-issued identifications that are not compliant with Real ID standards for those 18 and older. While your driver’s license is a proper form of ID, you have to make sure it is Real ID compliant. However, there are other forms of identification that you can use that are compliant.
