BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Start your engines and buckle up, a car show bringing cars from across the country right into the heart of Beckley is this weekend. The Antique Automobile Club of America is hosting its Eastern Spring Nationals Car Show on June 21st. This family-friendly event begins at 10:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. It is free for the public to enjoy. The show will feature over 150 cars from 19 states, as well as a special awards banquet Saturday evening at the Raleigh County Convention Center.

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)— The WV Collective is hosting its summer theatre camp, “so dramatic.” During this camp, students ages 5 to 12 will perform the show “The Princess’s New Clothes.”Throughout the 2 weeks, students will learn about all the different aspects of theatre. From the acting, set design, costumes, to everything in between. “They’re learning about makeup and how to apply makeup,” said Linda Boyd, the Camp director.

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- Fayette County Schools hosted the Empowerment Collaborative this week to prepare for this school year. The Empowerment Collaborative is a program to help change the way we teach middle schoolers. This program is real-world focused with a career mindset. Although this program isn’t just for the teachers, students are given the opportunity to have a voice in their education. This past week, students and teachers worked together to build projects.

ELBERT, WV (WOAY)- McDowell County is happy to announce that they now have their very own almost heaven swing. The Almost Heaven swings are placed around the state to help promote tourism by people visiting the swings. The image above is the newest member of the over 30 Almost Heaven swings family. The swing is located at Miracle Mountain Wilderness Park in Elbert. The swing is about 7.5 miles from the warrior trail in Ream. It’s ready for locals and visitors alike to visit and enjoy the views.

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- Today, it’s time to say thanks to dad, because it’s Father’s Day. We spoke to locals about their favorite memories with their dad for this Father’s Day. “One of the times after winning a tournament and seeing him proud of me, you know. I have vague memories of making little, you know, grade school, happy Father’s Day kind of things and seeing the kind of smirk he gave,” said Jordan Furrow. “When I was younger I would go visit him during the summer for a few weeks.
