PRINCETON, WV (WOAY)- Mother’s Day is a very special day to celebrate and appreciate your mom. There are many women who’ve been mothers for quite some time but some may be celebrating it with their first child. Being a mother is truly hard work, but so rewarding, as many mothers say. The little ones you see above are some of the babies who were just born this past week. We talked to a local mom, of now 3 kids, about what being a mom means to her and how it feels having her baby just before today.

BECKLAY, WV (WOAY)- There’s going to be a cruise in next weekend. The price to join in? A stuffed animal. Shade Tree and the Beckley City Police Department will be hosting the cruise-in/stuff animal drive on Saturday, May 17th. It’ll be at the Golden Coral from 5 to 8 pm. You can donate both new and used stuffed animals if they are cleaned. The stuffed animals will go to help children who are affected when situations arise and police are involved.

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOAY)- Calling all those who wish to go into pharmaceuticals. Marshall University School of Pharmacy will be hosting an open house. The open house will be on Monday, May 19th, at the Stephen J. Kopp Hall on Marshall’s health sciences campus. It’ll start at 2 pm and run to 5 pm. The event is open to current high schoolers and undergraduate students interested in pharmacy.

If you’re born on or after December 31st 1986, you must successfully complete a boating education safety course before you can hit the waters. Course topics include, boating terms, capacities, registration requirements, safety equipment, navigation rules, and more.
