APPLETON (NBC 26) — The Building for Kids in Appleton opened a new permanent exhibit designed to teach children about healthy eating on Friday. The new exhibit, called "Food to Grow," gives children a hands-on look at how food goes from farm to store and to kitchen table. Gail Ostrander is a VP of Regional Services for Children's Wisconsin, which sponsored the exhibit. She says she hopes the new exhibit will help inspire families to make healthier food choices.

APPLETON (NBC26) — Bergrstrom Automotive kicked off its annual Drive for a Cure event in Appleton Friday, to raise money for breast cancer research. Participants got to take a free test-drives in some of the dealership's cars on a 12-mile course, with Bergstrom donating a dollar to the Medical College of Wisconsin's Cancer Center for every mile driven.

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — The Experimental Aircraft Association hosted a story time event Thursday as museum staff read a book to preschool-aged children and gave them an aviation-themed craft to work on afterwards. Courtney Condon is a Museum Educator with EAA and ready a story inspired by the first mission to the moon. Condon says she hopes the even will spark a passion for flight in her young listeners, and hopefully inspire some to step up to meet the challenges of aviation's future.

APPLETON (NBC 26) — Around 25 local companies came to Appleton West High School Wednesday to show an estimated 750 students the possibilities a career in manufacturing can offer. Appleton Technical Academy, Wisconsin Business World Program, and Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce teamed up to put on the event, which gave students a chance to meet with local manufacturers and try their hand at some basic manufacturing skills.

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — One Oshkosh shop is taking an intimate approach to breast cancer awareness in October, by using bedazzled bras to raise funds for those undergoing cancer treatment. Brinkley's Boutique Co-owner Barb Nelson explains that her store has been encouraging customers to decorate bras for people to vote on for a five dollar fee.
