ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is scheduled to hold a news conference Monday morning in Orlando. He will be joined by Orange County Sheriff John Mina and statewide prosecutor Nick Cox. Channel 9 has learned that Uthmeier is expected to address the ongoing back-and-forth between his office and State Attorney Monique Worrell. Worrell serves as the chief prosecutor in the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, covering Orange and Osceola counties.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman says she was attacked while jogging in the College Park area early Thursday. Orlando police are investigating after the woman said a man tried to tackle her as she ran past him. She said she fought him off and got away. The woman said it happened around the corner of New Hampshire Street and Florinda Drive at about 4:20 a.m.She described her attacker as around 30 years old with short, sandy blonde hair.

ORLANDO, Fla — An Orlando district fire chief called her work environment hostile, saying she complained but was then retaliated against. Now she says she had no choice but to sue. District Fire Chief Alissa Baussan has been with the department for more than two decades, becoming the first Black woman to be promoted to district chief. “I love. I loved it. I never envisioned myself doing it. It was it was challenging, but it was very rewarding. I was very happy,” she said.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 Eyewitness News has learned that a woman boarding a flight at Orlando International Airport has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty after killing her dog in the airport bathroom. Sources told WFTV that the woman allegedly drowned her dog in an airport bathroom at MCO. Sources said that the woman was trying to board a flight, but didn’t have the right paperwork to allow the dog on board and couldn’t take it with her.
