WFTV operates alongside WRDQ, an independent station on channel 27, as part of a duopoly. Both stations have their studios located on East South Street (SR 15) in downtown Orlando, while their transmitter is positioned between Bithlo and Christmas. Additionally, WFTV can be found on cable services in Lakeland, which is included in the Tampa Bay market.

    ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Orange County said three teens were shot over the weekend by another teen. The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 7300 block of Woodhill Park Drive. Investigators said the shooting happened after an argument. Deputies said a 17-year-old shot the victims, who are between the ages of 13 and 16. All three victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies said the shooter was later arrested at a nearby location.

    ORLANDO, Fla. — Firefighters in Apopka confirmed lightning strikes from severe storms caused four house fires Sunday evening. Crews spent hours battling lightning fires from Alexandria Place to Rock Hill Loop. The first call came in around 9 p.m. for two house fires on the 100 block of Alexandria Place. Less than an hour later, another lightning strike hit a home in the 900 block of Offaly Court. The third call came in at 11:09 p.m. when lightning struck again in the 4000 block of Rock Hill Loop.
