Everyone knows that eggs are as expensive as they’ve ever been, and this certainly won’t help tings in the short term in Denver…A semi-truck carrying eggs crashed on westbound I-70 between Tower Road and Airport Boulevard in Aurora on Monday, spilling eggs all over the highway. The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m., according to the Aurora Police Department. The truck swerved to avoid a vehicle that suddenly braked and went off the road and hit a pole on the shoulder of the highway.
Denver's rugby stadium will screen movies this summer

Did you know Denver has three big time rugby teams? The Glendale Merlins, the Denver Barbarians, and the Glendale Lady Merlins all play at Infinity Park in Glendale. But it’s not all rugby at the stadium…The outdoor rugby park, near South Colorado Boulevard and East Mississippi Avenue, will screen family friendly movies on select Mondays. The Colorado alligator that starred in 'Happy Gilmore' has died

If you’ve seen the movie Happy Gilmore, you’ve seen Morris the Alligator. Sadly, the famous gator who called Colorado home has died. The gator that was also in movies like Dr. Doolittle 2 and others called the Colorado Gators Reptile Park in Mosca, Colorado, near Alamosa, home for the last 19 years. While the farm doesn’t know his exact age, they estimate that based on his size and teeth, he was at least 80 or 90 years old. He may have even been 100 years old.
Older people in Colorado may soon be able to opt out of jury duty

I don’t do politics, but sometimes things are just common sense… This is one of those things!Currently you can be summoned to jury duty no matter how old you are in the state of Colorado, which is dumb because of all the obvious hardships that older people face. Colorado is one of just nine states that don’t let older folks out of jury duty. If passed into law, House Bill 25-1065 would allow Coloradans aged 72 and older to opt out of jury duty, temporarily or permanently, beginning in 2026.

If you need some cuteness in your life you just have to look in Colorado Springs at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. An African penguin chick hatched April 8th at the zoo and currently weighs 983 grams, 901 grams up from its first weight of 82 grams on April 11. According to the zoo, the tiny chick is an “important ambassador” for the African penguins, which were officially “uplisted” to “critically endangered” on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List in 2024.

Once one of the most popular clothing stores on the planet, Forever 21 will no longer exist after today (May 1). The clothing retailer filed for bankruptcy protection for a second time in March with plans to wind down the business with liquidation sales. The company said in its bankruptcy filing that planned to complete all store closing sales on or before May 1. The company operated five store locations in Colorado that will close after May 1.

According to Reuters, Sanders has the third-highest-selling rookie jersey from the NFL website. He is the only rookie featured in the top 10 who was not selected in the first round of the draft.
World's biggest passenger plane lands permanent route at Denver's airport

Most airplanes flying at of Denver International Airport (DIA) hold around 200 passengers, but soon one that holds over double that will call DIA a permanent home. Lufthansa Airlines announced in January it will fly the world’s largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, between the Denver International Airport (DIA) and Germany, and the first of these daily flights landed in Denver just before 1:45 p.m. local time today (April 30).
