Westland expected to break ground on nearly $12M park this monthWESTLAND — City officials are planning a nearly $12 million park that they hope will help spark a downtown-like environment. The park, named Nankin Square, is slated for 3.9 acres between the Westland Community Health Center, 35700 Warren Road, and the city's main fire station at 35701 Central City Parkway. The project is expected to break ground this month and be completed in September 2025.

Farmington Hills police arrest suspected shooter at apartment complexFARMINGTON HILLS — Police arrested a suspected gunman after responding to a non-fatal shooting incident on Saturday, July 27. Police received a report of domestic trouble and responded to The Retreat at Hills, 27517 Gateway Drive East, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a release from the Farmington Hills Police Department. Officers learned in transit that a male had been shot and a male suspect had fled the scene.
