They warble about sticks and stones breaking their bones but words won’t break them down. “Stand Up,” as the song is called, is just one of many in their adolescent discography. “There's another song called ‘Redemption’ about redeeming your love for someone. Overdue traffic tickets, court fines and fees frequently lead to driver license suspensions that Floridians struggle to pay off. But Miami-Dade drivers can get a break for eleven days starting Monday. The Clerk of the Court's Operation Green Light initiative is back. The program waives all collections fees for people with outstanding parking, traffic and criminal court costs, fines and fees.

South Florida-based Spirit Airlines has appointed its new leader weeks after it emerged from bankruptcy. Dave Davis was named its new chief executive officer, effective April 21. Most recently he served as finance chief for Sun Country Airlines, and before that worked as the chief financial officer of Northwest Airlines. In producing a podcast for her Miami Dade College writing class, Isabel Paz opened with a dramatic emotional voicemail she left her mother years ago about an active shooter lockdown at her high school, Doral Prepatory Academy. Through tears and confusion, you can hear Paz comforting her mother’s fears by telling her she is safe. " I wanted to call to let you know that I'm okay," Paz says in the podcast. "I know you're probably worried. Just stay where you are, okay? And I promise it's gonna be okay.

Parts of a popular sunset viewing spot in Key West are closed to the public because of structural damage. Keys officials say the outer 45 feet of Mallory Square is closed to all traffic, including foot traffic. An assessment of the square showed some deterioration. The Keys Citizen reports structural engineers will inspect the foundation to determine the time frame of the closure and repair costs.
