MONDAY SNOW TO RAINWith temperatures below freezing this morning, our next system will arrive with rain and snow. There may be minor accumulation north and west of Boston, mainly at elevations. A south wind will warm temps above freezing through the morning, washing away any little bit of snow or ice for the afternoon. In fact, the steadiest rainfall is expected this afternoon with highs in the 40s. Dress for a cool and soggy day. Wet weather will last through the evening commute and dinnertime.

There’s a chance the drizzle will pause in some spots this afternoon, but don’t get excited for substantial improvements. The gray weather will linger with highs in the lower 50s. FRIDAY STORMA wave of steady rain will pass through the region from west to east Friday morning. We’re looking at 0.25″-.50″ in most communities. Showers will wrap up by lunchtime.

Wind Advisories and High Wind Warnings will run through 7 PM Friday for gusts 45-60 mph, strongest at elevations in Worcester County and the Berkshires. Brace for wake-up wind chills in the teens Friday! Highs Friday and this weekend will peak in the low to mid 40s. That’s actually normal for early March, but will feel colder with the wind.

WET WEATHER MOVES OUTDownpours moving through New England are moving out for the morning drive. Gusty winds will stick around Thursday along with mild temperatures in the 50s. Those winds will keep it in the 40s in towns along south-facing coastline as the water is still only near 40 degrees. We could also see splash over up and down the MA coastline with a 1.5-3 foot storm surge. The South Coast is the most probable spot for minor coastal flooding.
