BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - For over 10 years the Bangor Symphony Orchestra has had a music and wellness program where musicians will play in healthcare facilities around the Queen City. On May 29, the public got a taste of that. A free concert took place at the Wabanaki Health and Wellness Center in Downtown Bangor. All members of the community were invited to hear the sounds usually played by the BSO in healthcare settings.

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Dr. Ai Takeuchi, the co-medical director of Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic, returned to WABI news for an update on the state of Pet Health in the region. As the warmer months are settling in, more critters are out and about. Takeuchi said she’s had an influx of calls from pet owners concerned about bug bites that replicate a tick or ringworm, but it’s been the return of black flies.

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - During Mental Health Awareness Month, a local fire chief wants to share the importance of having critical conversations, especially amongst first responders. “We want to make sure that people are happy, they’re engaged, they can feel fulfilled, and part of that is paying attention to their mental health and helping them through those processes,” said Geoff Low. Low started his career in 1986 and has seen the conversation shift about the well-being of first responders.
