There's loads to do in Great Yarmouth (Image: Simon Murfitt, Newsquest) It’s just gone 8am and with the sun already shining brightly you’ve taken an early walk down to the beach for a quick stroll before breakfast. Save for the odd dog walker it’s more or less deserted. You’re pleasantly surprised by how warm it is and find you have completely misjudged your outfit of jeans, trainers and overshirt.

I took my family to the University Arms in Cambridge (Image: University Arms Hotel/Sarah Murfitt) Over the last year or so I've been on a quest to find luxury UK short breaks that you can enjoy with a toddler in tow. So far it's taken me to self-catering apartments and an upmarket holiday park, which have both been enjoyable in their own right.

The mouth-watering food at Nest Farmhouse (Image: Simon Murfitt, Newsquest/Nest Farmhouse) After a full-on family Christmas that left us significantly more tired than before the break, we now need another holiday. Just one night where we can drop the toddler off with his grandparents and hide away with a bit of luxury.

After a full-on family Christmas that left us significantly more tired than before the break, we now need another holiday. Just one night where we can drop the toddler off with his grandparents and hide away with a bit of luxury. So we've made the journey to Norfolk (roughly a three-hour drive from London) in search of that, where up an unassuming farm track not far from King's Lynn, you can find Nest Farmhouse.
