This appointment will underline the WRU’s commitment to the women’s game and its new headline five-year strategy for Welsh rugby, launched in June. The new head coach for the national side will lead a 37-strong squad of WRU contracted players and professional coaching, S&C and medical teams during a huge year in women’s rugby with the 2025 World Cup on the horizon. The new appointment will build on the foundations already established and lead a programme in it’s fourth year of professionalism.

The Welsh Rugby Union has issued 37 new full-time professional contracts to Wales Women players – it confirmed today as the squad prepares to face Australia in the WXV2 tournament hosted in South Africa this weekend. The move, which, for the first time, includes many extended two-year deals, makes Wales Women one of the best paid international women’s teams in the world game.

The Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed prop Sisilia Tuipulotu will miss Wales’ WXV2 opener against Australia at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday, September 28th. There has been a delay in arranging Tuipulotu’s visa to enter South Africa as a result of unforeseen circumstances. All parties are working together to rectify the situation.
