When Booli Selmayr headed to Germany to horse shop, whichever horse she found had some big shoes to fill. In June 2017, her top horse Jaeda died while competing at Bromont (Quebec), and the mare’s owner, Kelly Morgan, offered to help her find a new horse.

When Gina Miles first laid eyes on McKinlaigh, she didn’t see an upper-level horse, much less one that would go on to win an Olympic silver medal. “He arrived, and he was so big, and this was in ’99, so people were still mostly riding Thoroughbreds,” Miles recalled. “There weren’t many warmbloods yet, [and] there certainly were no horses his size; there were no giant horses. Raeford, N.C.—March 16Liz Halliday added nothing to her dressage score of 22.5 with Miks Master C to win the Yanmar America CCI4*-S at the Setters’ Run Farm Carolina International this weekend. They were the last to go on cross-country and finished right on the time allowed of 6:28 to take the win.

Mikki has long been incredibly reliable in the jumping phase, but Halliday said his way of going has changed immensely since last year.

The rider is well-known for her prowess in the dressage court, and she showed it again today by taking the top three spots with Miks Master C, Cooley Moonshine and Cooley Quicksilver. Her fourth horse, Cooley Nutcracker, slotted into fifth.
