House prices in Wigan dropped slightly in April, new figures show. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show the average value for a Wigan home in the year to April was £188,508 – a 0.6 per cent decrease on March. The picture was different to that across the North West, where prices decreased by 6.4 per cent. The drop in Wigan does not reverse the longer-term trend in the area, which has seen property prices in the area grow by 6.2 per cent over the last year.
