Moose aren't too common to see in heavily-populated metro areas around Colorado – that said, a rare sighting did occur in recent days in Colorado Springs. According to a press release from the Colorado Springs Fire Department that went out on June 24, a baby moose was found in a "sticky situation" near the city's Cottonwood Creek Park on a toasty day. Images from the scene appear to show that the moose was in a residential area at the time wildlife officials caught up to it.

Local news sources out of Florida report that a 29-year-old man from Colorado has died after getting struck by lightning while visiting a beach during his honeymoon. According to a report from Click Orlando, the man was struck by lightning on Friday, June 20 while at New Smyrna Beach. This is located about 45 miles northeast of Orlando. "So sorry for the tragic loss of a young man here on a delayed honeymoon with his wife," reads a statement provided by Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
