TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Hundreds of people walked from Governor’s Square Mall to the Florida Capitol on Wednesday for the final stretch of the Walk in my Shoes event. The walk is led by former senator Lauren Book, who walks across the state during the month of April to raise awareness about child abuse. “As a survivor of childhood sexual assault from the time I was 10 years old until I was 16, we’ve created a different world where children can share their stories,” Book said.
