I can’t believe it has already been 10 years since my wife Morgan and I hiked the Camino de Santiago. This month we will head out to “Cammino” with an Italian twist. The Camino is a 500-mile pilgrimage trail across northern Spain. In 2018 we also completed the Portuguese Camino which is 400-mile hike across Portugal. Both of these pilgrimages end in Santiago, Spain. These journeys were life-changing both physically and spiritually. Now, we are embarking on a new adventure.

Gregg PattersonGuest columnistLast year brought a unique twist to hiking in the U.S. and overseas. During 2024 we started exploring urban landscapes, this in addition to being out in nature. Walking, whether it be in a city, or out in nature is a great way to meet new people and explore different landscapes. In the States, the Tallahassee Miccosukee Greenway is my “go to” walking path. Over the years, walking on this route I have become friends with a small group of guys who gather daily.
