SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) -- Some residents in South Portland want to know what’s being done to address the odor emanating from the city's wastewater treatment facility. South Portland resident Brian Guthrie asked the CBS13 I-Team:"Can anything be done to alleviate the smell coming from the wastewater treatment facility? I know it's got to be impacting more than just me."The I-Team found the facility, which was built in the 1970s, was last upgraded in 1995.

HOULTON (WGME) -- Another Maine hospital is closing its maternity ward. Houlton Regional Hospital officials say they will shut down labor and delivery services on May 2. A petition to save the unit has already gathered more than 1,000 signatures. Our media partners at WAGM attended a public informational meeting this week, where labor and delivery nurses, along with local mothers, shared story after story of complicated deliveries that required emergency care in Houlton.

PORTLAND (WGME) -- A select few residents caught in the crosshairs of the tariff war are being given some reprieve. Canada is exempting those living on Campobello Island, on the Maine border, from its 25 percent tariff on U.S. products. The island’s fewer than 1,000 residents are relieved, because every trip to the grocery store was becoming a battle. Campobello Island is the first bit of Canada you encounter when you enter the country from Lubec, Maine.

"It's frustrating, frustrating, frustrating," Johnson said.
